Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Metanoia

Pronunciation: (met"u-noi'u), [key] n.

a profound, usually spiritual, transformation; conversion.

Metanoia means: a change of mind...

turning around to face a new direction...

to turn toward the light...

Because when you face the light,

the shadow is behind you.

Metanoia is from a Greek word which signifies transformation

in a person's life. Engaging in the therapeutic journey helps clients

shed new light on their inherent strengths and discover possibilities for change.  I believe that therapy is a relationship in which conversation becomes a catalyst for meaningful revelation and intentional change.  I look forward to getting to know you.

Since 2004, I've provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families.  My initial experience and early training took place at Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders. In 2009, I co-founded Midtown Psychotherapy with Dr. Amy Smith Barnes.  I currently welcome clients struggling with issues related to relational distress, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and life transitions.  As a systemically trained therapist, I focus on helping clients understand their relationships; both with self and others.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I founded Family Resources Inc., an international consulting firm working with a wide range of corporations and organizations. My background as an entrepreneur and business owner enables me to work well with professionals and executives seeking balance and strategies for managing work related anxiety and stress.

I am a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor with AAMFT (American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists am currently the Ethics Chair for GAMFT.  I have been adjunct faculty at Richmont Graduate University teaching an intensive course in Eating Disorders and providing Clinical supervision to Masters level clinicians.
